LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 18, 2004-- This week, Arecont Vision, the leading developer of high-resolution video surveillance cameras and systems, started commercial sampling of its newest product, AV2000 video surveillance system, to select system integrators and value added esellers in US, Germany, Russia, Japan and China.

Far exceeding the performance of available today video surveillance products, low-cost fully digital AV2000 system delivers HDTV imagery at 24 frames per second across local area networks. Based on world's fastest 2 Mpxl (1600x1200) network cameras, AV2000 is designed to offer a vastly superior cost-competitive alternative to mainstream NTSC-based video surveillance and industrial monitoring.

AV2000 system is enabled by MegaVideo™ technology protected by multiple pending patents. This revolutionary technology leverages dedicated massively-parallel image processing architecture and represents a drastic departure from traditional analog and network camera designs.
